In recent posts I have highlighted the tyrannical and draconian measures in the proposed Northern Ireland Health bill that was recently submitted for consultation.
Unfortunately apathy is the real pandemic. There are too many people who think these things will never happen and they have better things to do with their time. Even after covid, when they removed every basic freedom we had, people still don't treat these threats seriously.
That and fear of what others think. Too many people complied with the covid nonsense because somebody might have called them names or their freinds may have criticised them. Who cares! People really need to stand up and be counted.
I am very relieved and pleasantly surprised that this BiIl has been blocked so far. However you are right about apathy. My younger relatives (now in their mid thirties) have no interest in the truth behind the so-called Pandemic, appear to have no political awareness at all, and refuse to discuss contemporary politics with me. They have grown up in a society where the media routinely misrepresent and trivialise political issues and they have been turned off - I suppose by witnessing how impotent everyday politics has become in the UK. They are keen on "woke" though. I was hoping to discuss this Bill with them and alert them to the implications. They do not want to know.
Unfortunately the education sytem has been very effective in brainwashing the young. Wokeness is taught almost evrywhere and is seen as a virtue. Peer pressure almost ensures no young person can stand up against it or you are viewed as an evil far right fascist. The young don’t appreciate the voice of experienced older people because they are taught that all their problems stem from their parent’s generation. They are taught that they are victims.
That, combined with all the information they get about any subject on the news, being reduced to 10 second sound bites means they are no longer capable of critical thinking.
If things continue as they are, the younger generation will actually bring about thier own enslavement by suppoting draconian laws that they think are virtuous -like all the restrictiion that will come in to play regarding net zero.
Unfortunately, it is going to be up to the older generation to stop thetyranny before it’s too late.
It is very strange, as my parents, who grew up through the second world war, were very politically aware and we discussed politics at home in the sixties and seventies. There is no way these proposals would have passed in the sixties. Since then politics as a living force for change has been emasculated by consumerism, affluence and complacency and a systematic emasculation of genuine political difference, and manipulation and misrepresentation of what politics is.. Younger people appear to have no idea of the value of politics - and in fact there are no political parties that represent any genuine ideals to them. So they dismiss the lot, and cannot tell when something genuinely sinister threatens them.
Political parties no longer represent any real choice as they are nearly all controlled by the globalists so they may argue about certain small issues but the goal is always the same - more surveillance, more control, more restrictions on speech. So young people trun away from politics and, instead, look to celebrities and follow whatever they promote. Unfortunately, the celebrities support the same globalsit ideologies that the government supports but dressed up in more woke, virtue signalling language that appeals to the young.
Apathy, complacency, and misguided beliefs are potentially very dangerous here. Who, in their right mind would stand by and let these measures go forward. They want to eliminate the right to resist tyranny, resist lies and propaganda, insure compliance with harmful and deadly policy. It's obvious where this is going: 1984/ Brave New World.

Yep. I sent in a response to the consultation on this bill, by the way.
Excellent. It is because of people like you that the bill has failed. We just have to be vigilant for the next assault on our freedom.
